The honest answer
Community consensus one week in: the global version is meaningfully less pay-to-win than the Korean build, but it isn't cosmetics-only. Money buys time and smoothness; it does not (currently) buy the best gear outright.
What money buys
- Progression conveniences — energy/mobile-style systems accelerate some grinds.
- QoL and cosmetics.
- Time — the real product in every chore-driven MMO.
What it can't buy (so far)
- Endgame best-in-slot gear appears to remain earned through dungeons, faction progression and collection systems.
- Skill expression (PvP lockdown play, cleric mana triage) is not purchasable.
What to watch
Reddit's P2W threads are the leading indicator: watch for monetized gear shortcuts creeping into patches. This page gets updated as the store evolves — bookmark it.
